UKRACT is a London contractor carrying out renovation and refurbishment work on both commercial and residential projects, operating from Covent Garden in the centre of the city.

On the commercial side the company handles hotel refurbishment and commercial fit outs, the kind of work where a building has to be stripped back, rebuilt and returned to use to a standard that paying guests and customers will judge. On the residential side it takes on kitchen fitting, bathroom installation, loft conversions, basement conversions and house extensions, along with brickwork, covering both the projects that add space to a property and the ones that bring existing rooms up to date.

What distinguishes the way the firm works is that its team is fully in house. Carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, tiling, plastering, painting and decorating and brickwork are all covered by people working for the same business rather than assembled from separate subcontractors for each stage. On a renovation that matters more than it might appear. Most of the delay and most of the disagreement on a building project happens in the gaps between trades, where one contractor is waiting on another and nobody owns the schedule. Keeping the trades under one contract closes those gaps and gives the client a single point of contact for the whole job rather than a list of numbers to chase.

Projects are managed by the in house build team from strip out right through to finishing. The firm takes on full refurbishments as complete contracts, and it also takes on smaller building jobs, so the scope is not limited to large projects only.

The business works on projects across London and is based in the capital, with Covent Garden named in its own material as its location. For commercial clients that central base is practical: hotel and fit out work in London tends to be scheduled tightly around closures and trading periods, and a contractor already working in the city is better placed for it than one travelling in.

Whether the work is a hotel being refurbished, a commercial unit being fitted out, a loft being converted or a kitchen and bathroom being replaced, the approach is the same: one team, one contract, and responsibility for coordinating every stage sitting with the contractor rather than with the client.
